Tim Smyth: Teaching and Learning with Comics

Tim Smyth, author of the Eisner-nominated book Teaching with Comics and Graphic Novels, classroom teacher, and reading specialist of over 20 years, will share his insights on using the power of comics to promote literacy.

In this workshop, the Smyth family will share many of the creative learning ideas from Tim’s book. Teachers and parents will learn how to integrate these high-interest and fun ideas to help engage their students and children in an exhibit where attendees of all ages can create their own comics and stories. The Smyth family is excited to share their experiences and answer questions.
